Vote For David Hibler

My Bio

I initially ran for the NRD because of my love for cycling and the MoPac Trail—a place that connects our communities and allows people to experience Nebraska’s beauty firsthand. As I learned more, I realized the NRD’s work had affected my life in far more ways than I knew, from protecting our land and water to reducing flood risks and preserving public spaces. What began with my love for one trail grew into a commitment to protecting the resources and places that make Nebraska home.

My Key Issues

Ground Water

Water is one of the most important issues facing our district. We must protect both the quality and quantity of our groundwater while planning responsibly for the needs of our farms, communities, and future generations. Water decisions require cooperation, careful oversight, and long-term thinking. Once a water source is depleted or contaminated, it is difficult—and costly—to restore. I am committed to protecting this essential resource while ensuring local voices remain part of every decision.

MOPAC Trail and other Recreational Spaces

Recreational spaces like the MoPac Trail are more than amenities—they connect communities, support local businesses, encourage healthy living, and give people a way to experience Nebraska’s natural beauty. As a cyclist, I know firsthand the value these spaces bring to our lives. I am committed to maintaining and protecting the trails, parks, and natural areas we already have while making thoughtful, fiscally responsible decisions about their future.

Providing assistance to communities in need

I believe that strong communities are built when we work together to solve problems and invest wisely in the places we call home. That is why I want to ensure the NRD is a dependable partner for all of us. If elected, I will focus on helping our communities address flooding, protect our precious water supply, care for our natural resources, and create public spaces that truly improve our everyday lives. I promise to bring a practical, collaborative approach to this vital work. For me, that means listening closely to your local needs and helping turn your good ideas into lasting solutions. Together, we can protect our home and build a stronger, safer future for everyone in our community.
